Fishing
The Findhorn river is only a few miles from Forres and provides an excellent fishing spot. Salmon and grilse are popular catches as well as sea trout which are found in the lower beats. Fishing permits are available from the local Forres Tackle Shop.
Sailing
Findhorn Bay and the Moray coast are renowned for being a major sailing and water sports destination. The Royal Findhorn Yacht Club provides training at a variety of levels and for all ages.
Golf
Forres has its own 18 hole golf course with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The 16th hole - The Pond - is infamous for providing a watery grave for stray golf balls! Visitors are always welcome.There are many more courses nearby which will keep an enthusiast more than happy.
Hiking and Cycling
There are many interesting walks in and around Forres, taking in the beauty of Grant Park, the town centre as well as the forests just on the outskirts of town.
A short drive will take you to the Cairngorms or our beautiful forests and coastal walks. The Speyside Way is a very popular walk. No matter where you choose to go there are walks to match all abilities.
Cycling is becoming more popular with new routes opening all the time. Bikes can be hired locally in Rafford or Findhorn.
